Janubio salt begins to take shape as in 1895. The Salinas de Janubio are the largest and most interesting
of the Canary Islands and are considered one of the salineros mills in the world. It houses high natural and cultural values​​, hence it has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest, due to its monumental paleontological interest.
At full capacity, the salt produced 10,000 kilograms of Janubio sea salt a year, a natural and ecological product that is made by hand. It is currently developing a project to create an interpretive center and space visitors.
