Juan Brito Martín: BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Juan Brito Martin was born in Peñón del Indiano Tinajo in 1919. He was a shepherd and farmer.
Until 1938 he was not able to obtain the certificate of primary studies. The master craftsman keeps his knowledge in a large part of Lanzarote's history. Interested by the traditions of his people, folklore and archeology, research and concerns Brito allowed rescue an important part of the culture of Lanzarote.

Besides researcher ( as found, for example , unpublished caves, some geologic or prehistoric interest, rock carvings and ; archaeological material ) , this Lanzarote created the Ethnological Museum which includes parts of tilling the Island that have desapareciencido , he founded the Titerroygatra folk group , later known as Los Campesinos , created the dance saranda or Malaga who first danced with two women and a man , he composed more than 50% of the subjects in the cluster.

But without a doubt one of the most recognized and admired facets is its artisan vocation. As a potter , sculptor and ceramic restorer , has earned a reputation over the years. Yet, today , continues to use his hands not only for ceramics . Working with cane, pírgano , wheat straw or palm is her passion. And , as a carpenter and stonemason has bequeathed us a magnificent collection of mills, and all kinds of farm implements such as plows , chairs or Peninsulas , among others.
