José Luján Pérez was born in 1756 in Guide . Son of wealthy farmers, was a man of
passionate temper and deep religious feelings , which are reflected in his images .

From an early age he showed great skill in modeling and drawing, why parents send him to the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to study drawing .

It was a great student who learned easily, arriving to surpass in skill and knowledge to their teachers.

With a mastery of wood carving and folding cloths work Luján Pérez was perfected under polychromatic light cup .
