José Abad
(La Laguna , Tenerife, 1942). He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts " Pietro Vannucci
" in Perugia ( Italy). Later works on the study of Eduardo Gregorio (Las Palmas ) and Martin Chirino ( Madrid). He exhibited in many Spanish cities and in the Canaries. A number of his sculptures are scattered worldwide in private collections . The materials used for their works are mainly iron and duralumin .
Some features of his work. The " Cage " appears frequently representing the oppression of man wants and can not escape . Appear whimsical elements , but have a symbolism, a surreal touch with stuffed crows , hanging objects , mirrors, or Gothic imagination , saying Lazaro Santana, with his black altarpieces, with a mysterious and esoteric carpentry. They are the work of his majestic bronze guanches menceyes that mark the Plaza de la Candelaria Basilica , and the president of The Menceyes Avenue in La Laguna.
