The subterranean aquatic habitat Jameos del Agua is a rich fauna, home to more than a dozen endemic species
of great scientific interest among which the famous (jameitos) blind crabs (Munidopsis polymorpha) that dot the rocky bottom of the lake . The darkness of the cave causes lack of pigmentation. This rare specimen, unique in the world, off-white and barely an inch in length, serves as a symbol of the Jameos del Agua.
