Geologically belongs to a group of islands and islets in the north of Lanzarote known as "Chinijo Archipelago" and also by the islands composed of Alegranza and islets Montaña Clara and Roque del Este and Roque West. La Graciosa, with 29 square kilometers, is the largest and only inhabited this set declared Nature and Marine Reserve Fishing given its unique environmental heritage.
In short is this an area of great ecological interest not only scientific but also economic. Of scientific interest not only for its volcanology and landscapes but also for its enormous biological species and marine species endemic floristic, in addition to its importance as a crossing point on the route of many migratory birds protected, as well as breeding place for some birds endangered.
Legal population of La Graciosa is 660 inhabitants (January 1, 2010)
