Cerdeña House
Built in the nineteenth century, was the seat of the Municipality of San Bartolomé until 1870. Don Pedro Cerdeña Armas was natural
of the island of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote reached to work with some guys. He married a neighboring municipality and settled in this house where he once had a store of some importance and a kind of bank. Through it Lanzaroteños emigrants in America sent their families money.
He also was one of the owners of the most important salt mines of the island. Las Salinas de Janubio. The role of the salt on the island has been quite distingido, as were the fundamental support for vessels fishing off the African coast, and its salt was also exported to other islands.
Today it is an installation which hosts City Hall offices and cultural activities.
It has a large central courtyard surrounded by a gallery around which 8 rooms are available.
